After 20 years of stabilizing and renovating the 16th century arsenal on the island of Hvar, Croatia, the theatre on the first floor of this impressive building has been given back to the public.
The Croatian Minister of Culture, Mrs Nina Obuljen Korzinek, reopened it as part of a three-day celebration which included a conference and performances doing homage to the Renaissance poets of the region.
The theatre first opened its doors in 1612; the present auditorium dates from 1803.
