With an academic background in theatrology, cultural marketing, and theatre journalism, Silvia Ghilaș began her career in 2001, as a literary advisor at the National Theatre in Iași. She has over two decades of experience in artistic coordination, project management, and international collaboration.
Her work reflects a sustained commitment to cultural development, interdisciplinary dialogue, and cross-border cooperation. She has played an active role in organizing major theatre festivals and has coordinated complex national and international projects, including TNI 180 – Uninterrupted National Seasons and the international project 44 × Mickiewicz, developed in partnership with the Stefan Żeromski Theatre in Kielce and supported by the Adam Mickiewicz Institute.
Between 2021 and 2025, she contributed to the European Commission–funded OPPORTUNITIES project (Horizon 2020), demonstrating her engagement with socially relevant themes and collaborative European frameworks. In 2025, she curated the interdisciplinary exhibition Architecture of the Performing Space. Study, highlighting her interest in innovative approaches to the performing arts throughout history.
Since 2022, she is Vice President of the Iași First Theatre Cultural Association and a board member of PERSPECTIV – Association of Historic Theatres in Europe.
