She is an art historian and educator with a long-standing academic and cultural career. She served as Professor of Art History at Primo Levi University in Bologna for over two decades and collaborated for six years with the University of Bologna. Throughout her academic career, she organized numerous cultural and educational visits to major Italian cities and regions, fostering students’ deep engagement with Italy’s cultural heritage.
For several decades, she has been President of the Association Cultura e Arte del ’700, dedicated to the promotion and preservation of historical, artistic, and cultural heritage. She also served as Director of the historic Teatro 1763 at Villa Aldrovandi Mazzacorati. In addition to her teaching and leadership roles, Marilena Frati is the author of several books and historical studies focusing on the history of the city of Bologna.
From the founding of PERSPECTIV in 2002 until 2019, she served as Vice President of the association, contributing with commitment and dedication to numerous projects and initiatives. She continues to support PERSPECTIV as a member of the board, offering her extensive experience to help strengthen its future activities.
