JR Norman Luker is an Associate Professor of Theatre and the Technical Director at California State University Fullerton. He has served as a Member of PERSPECTIV’s Board since 2022 and is the President of the California Section of United States Institute of Theatre Technology (CAL-USITT). His research centers on digital archival applying Reality Capture Technology using 3D Scanning and Photogrammetry which he uses to document the evolution of entertainment architecture, design, and technology focusing on stagecraft from the Italian Renaissance through the Industrial Age.
His creative work centers in Technical Design, Scenic Design and Fabrication, and applications of entertainment technologies including CAD/BIM, CAM/F, Stage Automation, Show Control, Theatre Rigging, Safety, and emerging technologies including 3D LiDAR, Photogrammetry, Reality Capture, Virtual Reality Modeling, and Motion Capture.
