Dieter Kaegi is an internationally acclaimed opera director, having staged over 150 productions worldwide. He has held key positions at the Music Festival in Aix-en-Provence, Monte Carlo Opera, and Deutsche Oper am Rhein in Düsseldorf, before serving for twelve years as Artistic Director of Opera Ireland in Dublin. In 2010, he founded the Blackwater Valley Opera Festival in Ireland, where he continues to serve as Artistic Director.
Since 2013, Dieter Kaegi has been General Director of Theatre Orchestra Biel Solothurn (TOBS!), overseeing theatre, opera, and orchestral productions in Switzerland. In addition, he has served as Acting President of the Swiss Theatre Association since 2019.
In 2024, he joined the board of PERSPECTIV – Association of Historic Theatres in Europe, contributing his extensive experience in networking and promotion the cultural heritage.
