Åsa Tillman has dedicated more than three decades to cultural heritage work at Drottningholm Court Theatre. Throughout this time, she has been deeply involved in the preservation and interpretation of one of Europe’s most significant historic theatres. Today, she serves as Technical Director and Cultural Heritage Manager, a senior leadership role in which she oversees operations and leads numerous conservation projects aimed at safeguarding the theatre’s unique architecture, collections, and traditions for future generations. Åsa also heads the technical department for stage productions during the summer festival at Drottningholm Court Theatre, a role that demands specialist expertise in operating and maintaining the original 18th-century stage machinery.
A graduate of Stockholm University with a degree in Cultural Science and specialisations in Musicology, Theatre Studies, Curating and Conservation, Åsa has extensive experience in cultural management. She has also contributed to international collaborations.
Beyond her professional responsibilities, Åsa Tillman is an active figure in the European historic theatre community. Since 2015, she has served as Vice-President of Perspectiv – the Association of Historic Theatres in Europe.
